How this calculator works
FTP is estimated by applying the standard correction factor for your chosen test to the power you entered: 95% of a 20-minute average, 75% of the best minute in a ramp test, 90% of an 8-minute average, or 100% of a 60-minute average.
Assumptions
- • A genuine maximal effort for the chosen test
- • Standard test-to-FTP correction factors
Limitations
- • Field tests vary with pacing, fatigue, and conditions
- • Retest every 6-8 weeks as fitness changes
Who this is for
- • Cyclists and triathletes setting power zones
- • Athletes who just completed an FTP test
- • Anyone planning a power-based training block
Who this is not for
- • Estimating FTP without any test data
- • Replacing a lab lactate-threshold test
